Firm Obtains Summary Judgment For Client In Legal Malpractice Action

Partner Susan Cohen and Associate Courtney Shea Winters recently obtained summary judgment for their client, an attorney, in a legal malpractice action. Cohen and Shea successfully argued that the statute of limitations had run prior to the filing of the case because the plaintiff had knowledge of appreciable harm more than three years prior to the filing of the case. The court agreed with their position that based on this, the attorney’s continuing representation of his client after the alleged malpractice did not toll the statute of limitations.
