Avana Anderson Receives MBA Outstanding Young Lawyer Award for 2021

Peabody & Arnold attorney Avana Anderson was recently honored by the Massachusetts Bar Association as its 2021 Outstanding Young Lawyer. The annual award recognizes one young lawyer who has demonstrated outstanding character, leadership and legal achievement, and has contributed service to the community. Avana was honored for her many legal and civic achievements. Of note, since 2016, she has provided pro bono representation to domestic violence survivors in restraining order and family law matters as part of the Women’s Bar Foundation’s Family Law Project. She is a committed advocate for survivors of domestic violence. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Pine Street Inn and as part of her work with that organization, she works to increase community awareness regarding the strong correlation between domestic violence and homelessness, while also assisting the organization in its fundraising efforts. The award was presented to Avana at the May 19, 2021 MBA House of Delegates meeting.

Avana Anderson is an Associate at Peabody & Arnold focusing her practice on professional liability and insurance coverage litigation. She frequently represents attorneys in legal malpractice cases against allegations of negligence, breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract.  Avana has successfully defended clients at trial in state court and has successfully argued before the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
