David G. O’Brien

David is a partner in the firm’s Directors and Officers Liability Group. David serves as insurance coverage and monitoring counsel, specializing in claims made under directors and officers, employment practices liability, professional liability, fiduciary liability and transactional liability policies. He has extensive experience evaluating and assessing coverage for all forms of civil litigation against companies, and corporate directors and officers including securities fraud litigation under federal and state laws, investigations by governmental agencies, shareholder derivative lawsuits and employment practices claims and class actions.  In his role as monitoring counsel, David maintains contact with defense counsel, insureds and brokers regarding status and strategy, and provides carrier clients with his assessment of potential liability, exposure, damages and settlement recommendations.  David routinely represents clients at court settlement conferences in both federal and state courts, as well as private mediations.
