Cairin M. Sager

Cairin M. Sager is a litigation attorney who defends employers, insurers, businesses, healthcare providers, and other licensed professionals in state and federal courts throughout Massachusetts and in proceedings before administrative agencies.

Cairin represents employers of all sizes in the full range of employment disputes, including claims of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblower activity, and wage and hour violations, as well as breach of contract and related statutory and common law claims. She defends employers in litigation and before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), and she counsels clients on personnel decisions, workplace policies, and compliance strategies designed to resolve disputes early and minimize litigation risk, including compliance with the Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave law.

Cairin also maintains an active insurance defense and insurance coverage practice. She defends individuals and businesses in premises liability, construction, professional liability, and medical malpractice actions, and she advises insurers on coverage questions, policy exclusions, and responses to demand letters under Massachusetts General Laws Chapters 93A and 176D. Her medical malpractice experience includes proceedings before the Massachusetts medical malpractice tribunal, and she represents physicians and other licensed professionals in connection with board complaints and other licensure-related proceedings.

Earlier in her career, Cairin gained experience across several areas of insurance litigation, including insurance defense and subrogation, and represented plaintiffs in employment discrimination matters, experience that informs her perspective on how opposing parties evaluate and litigate claims.
