Michael is a trial lawyer with a particular focus on the defense of professionals, including attorneys, architects, engineers, accountants, brokers and other professionals, as well as other complex civil litigation matters. He has tried dozens of cases in state and federal court, and has also represented attorneys and other professionals in the defense of claims of ethical violations before state licensing authorities.

In addition to his skills as a trial attorney, Michael takes a practical and proactive approach to resolving disputes through alternate dispute resolution including mediation. He is also a certified mediator and has served as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.

Michael has lectured on issues relating to professional liability and insurance matters for both bar groups and industry panels and has also taught trial practice as an adjunct faculty member in the Harvard Law School Trial Advocacy Program.

He has also presented on various topics such as the mediation process, bad faith and Chapter 93A claims, the relationship between insurers and insureds, and the process of defending claims arising from professional malpractice.
