Peabody & Arnold represents a broad array of individuals and corporations, closely and publicly held, for profit and not for profit, in all aspects of employment law and all manner of employment disputes.

We routinely advise employers and employees on matters relating to employment practices and policies, including hiring, promotion, discipline and discharge. We keep abreast of new and changing legislation, and provide timely information to our clients designed to maximize compliance with statutes and regulations and to minimize risk of exposure to litigation. This aspect of our employment law practice enormously enhances our ability to assess exposure or the potential for recovery once a dispute has arisen.

We have represented clients before state and federal administrative agencies with jurisdiction over all manner of employment issues, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and the Massachusetts Department of Employment Security. We are familiar with the rules governing such proceedings and have prosecuted and defended claims from the filing of a charge of discrimination (or other claim) through evidentiary hearing.

We have appeared in numerous proceedings involving employment disputes, including wrongful discharge claims, claims of discrimination on the basis of age, disability, sex (including sexual harassment), race, religion, and national origin, and claims for breach of employment, severance, and noncompetition agreements.
