Jill M. BrannellyASSOCIATE Ms. Brannelly is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on general civil litigation, with an emphasis on business litigation, professional liability defense, and insurance coverage litigation. Ms. Brannelly has been involved in numerous types of business litigation, including shareholder disputes, business torts, contract disputes and employment matters. Additionally, Ms. Brannelly has worked on business litigation matters involving trademark and patent issues. Ms. Brannelly has significant experience in defending professionals, including attorneys, insurance brokers, engineers, and trustees facing malpractice and related claims. The underlying matters on which she has represented attorneys have involved but are not limited to real estate transactions, employment litigation, probate and family law matters, general business litigation, civil rights litigation, personal injury litigation, and advice as corporate counsel. Ms. Brannelly also has experience representing credit unions in connection with claims arising under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Finally, Ms. Brannelly has experience handling insurance coverage matters, including insurance coverage litigation. Ms. Brannelly has litigated cases in the state and federal courts in Massachusetts and in federal court in Minnesota. Some of her achievements include successfully obtaining a jury trial verdict in a legal malpractice case in Massachusetts state court, successfully obtaining an arbitration award which included an award of attorney’s fees and costs for a contractor, and successfully handled appeals in federal and state courts in Massachusetts. Ms. Brannelly currently serves as a co-chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Litigation Section’s Professional Liability Committee. Ms. Brannelly is admitted to practice in Massachusetts state courts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
